WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a relationship centered on helping people discover their potential and assisting them in their goals. A coach helps the person identify the challenges and pitfalls that can pull them off course and encourages the person to develop their own solutions for success. This process is accomplished by the person’s own motivation for transformation as well as the built-in accountability of the coaching relationship. By providing a support structure, coaching aims to empower people to keep moving forward with their goals.
COACHING VS. COUNSELING
Counseling focuses on a person’s emotional and psychological state and looks at their past to help them become whole. Coaching on the other hand, focuses on a person’s present challenges and equips them to take action to meet their future goals.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EACH APPOINTMENT
• Clients set the agenda in the coaching relationship
• Goals are made with the expectation of meeting them
• Action steps are created to meet goals
• Follow-up is provided and progress is evaluated
• Questions are asked to draw out possibilities
• Growth and success are praised and encouraged
Coaching is done remotely either by Skype, FaceTime or Phone
As part of the coaching certification process, students are required to submit taped coaching calls to a certified ICF coach for review and feedback.
At Tools4Communication we offer this coaching service to students to complete their certification or reapply for an ICF credential.
